Activity Description
Hands down, one of the most adrenaline filled activities on offer in Victoria Falls, and one of the major reasons the area is known as the Adrenaline Capital of Africa!
Not the highest bungee jump in the world, but certainly one of the most intimidating. Standing on the edge of a giant bridge built between a gorge hundreds of meters deep, with the thundering Zambezi River below you! This activity has drawn the attention of many for decades. All determined to face their fears and take the leap.
Your adventure takes you to the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, and the mighty bridge which connects the two countries over the Batoka Gorge. An incredible feat of engineering that is over 100 years old. Behind you is the thundering Victoria Falls, with its constant spray being throwing up from the cascading water. In front of you is the bungee jump platform, jutting out from the bridge, with the Zambezi River snaking its way through the gorge hundreds of meters below you.
You are met by experienced operators who run through the various safety procedures whilst they strap your ankles together, first with protective cushioning to help take the strain of the bungee cord, and then several coils of harnesses and buckles. Finally they attached the bungee cord and guide as you hop towards the edge of the platform.
Before you know it you are plummeting head first towards the turbulent water below. Just as you think that you will hit the water, the elastic reaches its limit and you are flung back up towards the bridge, bouncing like a yo-yo several times taking in the extraordinary upside down view before you!
The Victoria Falls bungee jump is also available as a tandem option with some limitations on maximum weights. If you going to jump off a bridge, why not do it with a friend!

How safe is the Bungee Jump?
There has been one accident in the over thirty years that the bungee jump has been operating. An unfortunate factory issue resulting in almost brand new bungee cord snapping mid jump, with a guest plunging into the Zambezi River below. Fortunately she survived with relatively minor injuries.
With that said, there have been several hundred thousand bungee jumps conducted and so the safety record is impeccable. Since the one accident, even more safety procedures and protocols are in place. The Victoria Falls Bungee Jump has been rated as one of the safest anywhere in the World.
What is the difference between a Bungee Jump and a Bridge Swing?
The major difference is that the bridge swing is a swing that pendulums you across the gorge, whilst the bungee jump sees you plummet vertically down before being sprung back up by the elastic cord attached to your legs.
Another big difference is that the entire bungee experience is done upside down. Once you leap off the edge of the bridge you naturally fall head first as the bungee cord is attached to your ankles. Even with every bounce you remain upside down. Whereas with the swing, you are in an upright, seated position
